About Triathlon Quest

Triathlon Quest is for aspiring triathletes seeking practical insights and strategies to improve their training and race experience.

Why Triathlon Quest Exists

I created this site because I saw too many beginners stuck in confusion. Triathlon training does not need to feel overwhelming. Triathlon Quest cuts through the noise and gives clear, practical steps that work in real life. This is especially true if you live in Boulder and train on the same roads and trails I do every week.

The reader I have in mind is anyone who wants to race their first sprint or improve at Ironman distance without wasting time on trends that fade next season. Whether you are balancing a full-time job or already chasing podiums, the advice here fits your schedule.

Who Writes This

My name is Jamie Rivers. I have been a triathlon coach in Boulder since 2018. Every week I stand on the deck at the Boulder Reservoir or ride the same loops you ride. I do not collect trophies to impress you. Instead I focus on what actually moves the needle for everyday athletes. My approach stays simple: test everything on myself and my athletes first, then share only what proves reliable year after year.

How I Build Every Article

I never publish until I check the latest research from USA Triathlon and peer-reviewed studies. Then I run the ideas past local coaches and test them during group sessions here in Boulder. Every piece carries a publication date and I return to update numbers, rules, and equipment recommendations at least once per season. This is true only when new data appears; I do not change content for the sake of freshness.

What We Skip

You will not find product reviews paid by brands, generic motivational speeches, or training plans copied from other sites. I refuse to sell supplements or push miracle gadgets. If something does not improve your swim, bike, or run without adding unnecessary cost or risk, it stays off these pages.

How to Reach Me

Questions about your training or an article? Drop me an email at jamie.rivers@fatriatlon.org. I read every message and reply as quickly as my training schedule allows. No chatbots, no forms that disappear into a black hole.

Triathlon Quest has existed since 2026. It remains a one-person project because that keeps the voice honest and the advice grounded in what actually works on the roads around Boulder.
